Dear friends,
This Shabbat weekend, we celebrate the special Shabbat Shira commemorating the miraculus crossing of the Sea of Reeds by the Children of Israel as they flea the Egytians and begin the long road to freedom.
In our Torah portion of Beshallach, we hear the powerful voices of Moses and Miriam (Az ya shir Moshe) immediately sung after the escape. As this is the 1st Shabbat in February, we begin with a short service tonight at 6:30 pm followed by a delicious dinner with a TuBeShevat theme. Saturday morning's service will begin at 9:30 as usual. Both services will be in person and on Zoom.
Unfortunately, I have become seriously ill at Northbay Hospital and cannot be with you in person. You'll be in the loving capable hands of President Eileen Hochstadt and Chazzan Eilliot Shapiro. If I am able, I will try to attend silently on Zoom.
